Postdoctoral Fellowship in Operations Management (Prof. Chen Chen)
Job Summary
The Fellows responsibilities include the following:
Collaborate on impactful theoretical and practical projects and publish papers in top outlets;
Present research at academic forums;
Collect data and conduct empirical/numerical analysis;
Engage in the intellectual environment of NYU Shanghai through workshops presentations seminars and collaboration with faculty and other researchers;
Fulfill other duties as determined by the supervisor.
The position is for an initial appointment of one year with the possibility of extension for another year contingent upon satisfactory performance. The position will be affiliated with NYU Shanghai and based in Shanghai China. Opportunities for research visits and collaboration in New York will also be available. The appointment start date for non-Chinese applicants is subject to immigration regulations.
Terms of employment at NYU Shanghai are comparable to NYU New York and other U.S. institutions.
Candidates should have (or be close to completing) a Ph.D. in operations management operations research computer science economics statistics applied mathematics or a closed related field by the start date and have a strong theoretical background and record of accomplishment in research on similar topics;
Candidates should have strong research potential and evidence of scholarly excellence;
Candidates should have received solid methodological training (theory and/or data-driven methods as appropriate) and are able to collaborate effectively and communicate research clearly;
Candidates must be withinthreeyears of their PhD degree conferral when their fellowship starts at NYU Shanghai.
