About the role
Reporting to the Site Manager the Maintenance Technician is responsible for handling day-to-day maintenance requests across residential properties supporting tenant needs and ensuring buildings are well maintained. This role involves a mix of reactive repairs and preventative maintenance along with regular communication with tenants team members and contractors. The position plays a key role in delivering a positive tenant experience and maintaining the overall condition of the property portfolio.

What youll be doing
- Respond to emergency repairs (e.g. water leaks electrical issues heating/cooling failures).
- Complete routine maintenance and inspections across building systems (HVAC plumbing electrical appliances).
- Perform preventative maintenance (filters equipment checks alarms lighting etc.).
- Respond to tenant maintenance requests and communicate timelines clearly.
- Maintain tools parts and supplies inventory.
- Ensure equipment is safe and in working condition.
- Maintain general property upkeep including common areas and minor repairs (painting patching fixtures).
- Coordinate with contractors for specialized work when required.
- Support overall building condition and tenant experience.
What were looking for
- Minimum 5 years of experience in building maintenance residential construction or interior finishing.
- Experience in residential property management is preferred.
- Hands-on experience with carpentry plumbing electrical and appliance repair.
- High school diploma required.
- Trade school preferred.
- Class 5 Power Engineering ticket is an asset (not required).
- Valid drivers license and ability to travel between buildings.
- Ability to lift up to 60 lbs and perform physical tasks (climbing ladders moving appliances prolonged standing/walking).
- Basic understanding of boilers.
- Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office: Excel Outlook Teams).
- Ability to use or learn property management systems (e.g. Yuhu or similar).
