Registered Nurse (RN) Medical/Surgical (Med/Surg)
Location: Elmhurst NY
Duration: 14 Weeks
Shift: 7:00 PM 7:30 AM (Night Shift)
Position Overview
Navitas Healthcare LLC is seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to join a Medical/Surgical (Med/Surg) this role you will provide high-quality patient-centered care while collaborating with a multidisciplinary healthcare team. You will play a key role in supporting patients through pre- and post-surgical recovery ensuring safety comfort and optimal outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess plan implement and evaluate individualized patient care plans
- Deliver direct bedside care to pre- and post-operative patients
- Administer medications and treatments in accordance with physician orders
- Perform clinical procedures such as wound care dressing changes IV insertion and catheterization
- Monitor and interpret vital signs and patient conditions reporting any changes promptly
- Operate and manage specialized medical equipment
- Collaborate with the care team on discharge planning and patient transitions
- Educate patients and families on procedures recovery and ongoing care needs
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in patient records
- Adhere to established clinical standards protocols and safety guidelines
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of recent Med/Surg experience in an acute care or post-acute setting
- Strong clinical skills in:
- Patient assessment
- Medication administration
- Wound care and infection control
- IV therapy
- Post-operative care
- Patient education
- Telemetry monitoring
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with EPIC EMR system
Education & Licensure
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited institution
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Basic Life Support (BLS) AHA
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) AHA
