This is your opportunity to play a meaningful role in supporting strategic biodiversity and conservation initiatives that help protect our environment while enabling responsible development.

As an Assistant Project Officer youll be at the heart of project deliverysupporting key strategic projects and forums that shape biodiversity outcomes across NSW. Working alongside experienced project teams youll provide high-quality coordination research reporting and administrative support to ensure projects stay on track on time and aligned with agreed objectives.

No two days will be the same. One day you might be coordinating a roundtable with government and industry stakeholders the next preparing project briefs tracking milestones or supporting financial and reporting activities.

About You
Youre organised proactive and calm under pressure with a genuine interest in project work and delivering positive public service outcomes. You enjoy working collaboratively and can communicate clearly and confidently with a wide range of people.

You bring experience supporting projects or programs in fast-paced environments with strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities at once. You have well-developed written and verbal communication skills are comfortable engaging with stakeholders across government and industry and demonstrate strong attention to detail integrity and a commitment to quality.

You have experience in project governance and coordination and are confident supporting project controls such as maintaining governance artefacts monitoring budgets tracking schedules and preparing accurate project reporting. You are comfortable working closely with project managers and delivery teams to coordinate activities monitor risks and issues and ensure projects remain aligned with agreed milestones and objectives.

Youre a team player with a willingness to learn and grow. Experience in project coordination administration or government environments will be highly regarded; however if you have transferable skills and the right mindset we encourage you to apply.
