The Grantsmanship Coordinator supports the development coordination and submission of grant proposals to secure external funding for the University. This position works collaboratively with faculty staff and leadership to identify funding opportunities develop competitive proposals and ensure compliance with sponsor and institutional requirements.
Responsibilities
- Assist faculty and staff in the preparation writing and submission of grant proposals.
- Coordinate proposal development timelines ensuring deadlines are met.
- Review and edit proposals for clarity accuracy and compliance with sponsor guidelines.
- Compile required documentation including narratives budgets and supporting materials.
- Identify and disseminate relevant grant opportunities from federal state foundation and corporate sponsors.
- Maintain a centralized database of funding opportunities and deadlines.
- Provide guidance on funding priorities aligned with institutional goals.
- Ensure all proposals comply with sponsor requirements institutional policies and regulatory standards.
- Coordinate internal approval processes prior to submission.
- Submit proposals through appropriate electronic systems (e.g. sponsor portals).
- Serve as a liaison between faculty departments and external funding agencies.
- Provide training and workshops on grant writing and proposal development.
- Support capacity-building initiatives to increase grant competitiveness across the institution.
- Assist with award documentation reporting requirements and grant file maintenance.
- Coordinate with finance and principal investigators to ensure proper grant setup and tracking.
- Monitor reporting deadlines and support timely submission of progress reports.
Education
- Bachelors degree in Business Administration Public Administration Communications or a related field.
- 24 years of experience in grant writing research administration or proposal development.
- Must be able to lift 10 pounds.
