THE POSITION

The National Director of Clinical Programs provides national leadership for clinical program development implementation and operational support across the organizations assisted living and memory care communities.

Reporting to the Director of Care Services this role is responsible for leading and expanding key clinical initiatives that support resident care workforce development and operational efficiency across the organization. The National Director of Clinical Programs also provides direct clinical oversight and support for communities operating outside of established regional structures.

Initially this position will provide clinical program oversight and operational support for communities in Georgia and Pennsylvania ensuring compliance with state regulations and consistent implementation of company clinical systems and practices.

A key responsibility of this role is developing implementing and managing the organizations Assessment on Demand Program which allows communities to request virtual resident assessments for complex move-ins out-of-state transfers or situations in which an in-person Health and Wellness Director is unavailable.

This leader will also oversee the continued expansion of the organizations Nurse Internship Program and CNA Internship Program strengthening the companys workforce development pipeline.

Additionally the National Director of Clinical Programs will lead the implementation of the organizations in-house First Aid and CPR certification initiative establishing training capabilities across communities to support staff development and generate potential external training revenue.

This role requires extensive travel and close collaboration with operations leadership community teams and corporate departments to ensure successful program implementation.

Guided by the organizations pillars of Excellence Human Focus and Creativity the National Director of Clinical Programs plays a critical role in strengthening clinical systems expanding workforce development programs and supporting high-quality resident care across the organization.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

National Clinical Program Leadership

  • Lead the development implementation and ongoing management of clinical programs designed to strengthen resident care systems across the organization.
  • Support corporate clinical initiatives that improve care delivery workforce development and operational performance.
  • Partner with the Director of Care Services and National Directors of Resident Care to align clinical program initiatives with operational priorities.
  • Ensure new programs are implemented consistently across communities and supported with appropriate training tools and oversight.
  • Monitor program performance and recommend improvements to maximize effectiveness and scalability.

Assessment on Demand Program

  • Design implement and manage the organizations Assessment on Demand Program.
  • Conduct virtual resident assessments for communities when requested particularly in situations involving: out-of-state or complex move-ins high-acuity residents communities without an available Health and Wellness Director urgent assessment needs requiring rapid clinical review.
  • Ensure assessments are conducted in compliance with company standards and applicable state regulatory requirements.
  • Provide recommendations to communities regarding care needs service planning and resident appropriateness for admission.
  • Maintain documentation processes to support regulatory compliance and operational consistency.
  • Provide training to communities on the appropriate use of the Assessment on Demand program.

Support for Emerging Regions

  • Provide direct clinical oversight and operational support for communities located outside of established regional structures.
  • Initially support communities located in new states including: regulatory compliance guidance clinical system implementation training and onboarding of community clinical leaders assessment support and consultation for complex resident care situations.
  • Partner with operations leadership to ensure communities in emerging markets receive appropriate clinical oversight and support.

Workforce Development Programs

  • Lead the expansion and oversight of the organizations Nurse Internship Program and CNA Internship Program.
  • Develop program structures that support recruitment training and retention of clinical staff.
  • Partner with Human Resources Learning & Development and community leadership to expand program participation.
  • Ensure internship programs provide meaningful clinical training experiences while supporting workforce pipeline development.
  • Monitor program outcomes and identify opportunities for growth and improvement.

First Aid & CPR Training Program

  • Lead the organizations initiative to bring First Aid and CPR certification training in-house.
  • Responsibilities include:
  • Developing training infrastructure to support certification programs across communities.
  • Training community nurses and clinical leaders to become certified instructors.
  • Procuring training equipment including CPR manikins and associated supplies.
  • Ensuring programs meet certification standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Supporting communities in implementing internal training programs for staff.
  • Identifying opportunities to offer certification training to individuals outside of the organization as a potential revenue source.

Community Support & Clinical Consultation

  • Provide consultation and support to community teams on complex resident care situations.
  • Assist communities with evaluating high-acuity resident move-ins and developing appropriate care strategies.
  • Support communities during leadership transitions or when clinical expertise is required.
  • Collaborate with National Directors of Resident Care and regional clinical leaders to ensure consistent clinical practices across the organization.

Program Monitoring & Continuous Improvement

  • Track outcomes and effectiveness of clinical programs through performance metrics and feedback from community teams.
  • Analyze program data to identify opportunities for improvement and operational efficiency.
  • Provide regular updates to the Director of Care Services regarding program performance and implementation progress.
  • Assist in developing new clinical initiatives that support the organizations strategic goals.
Requirements

CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS

Education and certifications:

  • Registered Nurse (RN) Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) required.
  • Active nursing license in good standing within at least one state served by the organization.
  • Ability to obtain additional state licensure as required.

Experience

  • Minimum 7 years of experience in assisted living memory care or senior housing clinical operations.
  • Experience working across multiple communities or regions preferred.
  • Experience in clinical program development training or workforce development initiatives preferred.
  • Experience conducting resident assessments and developing care plans.
  • Strong knowledge of assisted living regulatory environments.
