Job Title: Donor Care Specialist (Phlebotomy)
Location: Hyannis MA
Duration: 13 Weeks
Schedule: 40 hours/week Rotating shifts (6:00 AM 7:00 PM) Occasional weekends & holidays
Position Summary
Navitas Healthcare LLC is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Donor Care Specialist to support a blood donor program. This role is responsible for donor recruitment blood collection procedures regulatory compliance and delivering a high-quality experience to donors and patients.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide excellent customer service to donors patients and healthcare staff
- Perform donor screening to determine eligibility in accordance with regulatory guidelines
- Conduct whole blood collection and therapeutic phlebotomy procedures
- Support both on-site and off-site blood drives
- Prepare label and handle blood components and specimens for testing
- Accurately document donor records deferrals and data in electronic systems
- Assist with donor recruitment initiatives and retention efforts
- Monitor and maintain inventory of supplies
- Ensure a clean safe and organized work environment
- Follow all safety protocols infection control standards and organizational policies
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Qualifications
Donor Care Specialist I
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Prior phlebotomy experience required
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced environment
- Basic computer proficiency
- National certification or accredited phlebotomy training preferred
Donor Care Specialist II
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Minimum 1 year of donor phlebotomy experience preferred
- Knowledge of blood groups Rh types and donation procedures
- Current DPT (ASCP) or QDP (ASCP) certification required
