About the Role:

The Legal team provides legal advice to GV Healths executive and staff on a broad range of matters affecting the health service. Legal issues at GV Health cover health law privacy Freedom of Information reporting obligations consent to treatment family law and childrens law issues relevant to GV Health functions contract preparation and interpretation corporate governance commercial and regulatory issues intellectual property purchase and lease of real property insurance statutory interpretation probity and procurement.

The Legal Counsel provides high quality practical timely and considered legal advice supporting the General Counsel in the provision of the full range of legal services to all areas of GV Health including its Board of Directors Chief Executive Executive Management Team Foundation and employees. The Legal Counsel is an integral part of the GV Health legal team reporting to the General Counsel.

This is a true legal generalists in-house role and the successful candidate will have the satisfaction of supporting the delivery of essential healthcare services in the Goulburn Valley.

The successful candidate will have:

• Admission to practice in the Supreme Court of Victoria.
• Possess or be eligible to obtain a practising certificate from the Victorian Legal Services Board.
• At least 4 years post-admission experience in legal practice either in a well-regarded private legal practice or in government or a substantial corporation.
• Conflict resolution or litigation and/or regulatory experience.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

This is a part-time position however hours and rate are negotiable for the preferred candidate.
