Job Description:

The Community Coordinator and Program Assistant will assist the Director of the Honors Program and the Kalos Chair / Executive Director of the Institute for Faith and Culture with strategic initiatives event planning and developing a robust cocurricular experience for students enrolled in the programs under their leadership. The Community Coordinator and Program Assistant will also assist the faculty who office in the Honors House with providing a physical presence during its regularly scheduled hours of availability and occasional special evening and weekend events.

The Community Coordinator and Program Assistant must affirm an understanding of and willingness not to advocate contrary to the Baptist Faith & Message 2000 and the Universitys Statement on Human Flourishing. They must also agree to abide by the employee handbooks including community standards agreements.

General Responsibilities:

  • Help foster ongoing cocurricular community among students in the Honors program and for the Kalos Scholars during the academic year
  • Maintain presence in the Honors House for an average of 24 hours per week including one evening per week
  • Maintain the scheduling calendar for the Honors House
  • Help maintain supplies for the Honors House including office supplies coffee and tea and snacks for students
  • Help manage social media accounts and other digital communication related to the Honors Program Kalos Scholars and the Institute for Faith and Culture
  • Assist with the planning and logistics for periodic evening or weekend events related to the Honors Program Kalos Scholars and the Institute for Faith and Culture
  • Other duties assigned by the Director of the Honors Program or the Kalos Chair / Executive Director of the Institute for Faith and Culture consistent with the above

Honors Responsibilities

  • Assistant the Director of the Honors Program with the initial fielding of inquiries from applicants to the Honors program
  • Assistant the Director of the Honors Program with tracking the academic progress of Honors students

Institute for Faith and Culture Responsibilities

  • Assist the Kalos Chair / Executive Director with logistics related to the Faith & Culture Lecture Series Christian Worldview Week and other events
  • Assist the Kalos Chair / Executive Director with logistics related to the annual Master of Arts in Leadership intensive on NGUs Tigerville campus
  • Assist the Kalos Chair / Executive Director with tracking prospective Master of Arts in Leadership students who are current NGU undergrads

Nathan Finn Kalos Chair for Intellectual Discipleship / Executive Director of the Institute for Faith and Culture



Qualifications

Skills Required:

Basic knowledge of Microsoft applications (Word Excel PowerPoint) and the NGU portal. Experience with creative software such as Adobe or Canva is preferred. Familiarity with campus offices departments and locations. Must be spiritually mature self-motivated disciplined reliable and able to maintain confidentiality.
