TITLE: See U Around Town Summer School Programming Coordinator
LOCATION: Dr. Preston Williams Jr. Elementary School (One site for the summer program which includes students from King Preston Williams Thomas Paine Leal and Yankee Ridge Elementary currently enrolled in grades 2-4).
SUPERVISOR: This position reports directly to the Program Director and building administration.
PROGRAM DATES: June 8th - July 16th 2026
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
To perform this job successfully the individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily:
- Lead staff to prepare creative and engaging enrichment activities.
- Implement non-digital lessons in a developmentally appropriate classroom environment that assists students assigned to the classroom with achieving specific educational goals.
- Work with staff to create classroom environments that are welcoming to all students.
- Collaborate with staff assigned to the classroom to develop general classroom procedures goals schedules behavioral expectations and classroom activities for students.
- Plan and implement activities inside and outside of the classroom that expose a child to a variety of learning experiences and broaden the childs perspective.
- Take daily attendance and complete other required documentation as assigned.
- Review develop and requisition materials for the classrooms.
- Work in partnership with the staff to plan and encourage family involvement in the education of their children.
- Supervise students as assigned by the Principal and/or program director.
- Perform any and all additional duties as assigned by the Program Director or Building Administration.
- Take an active role in scheduling onsite schedules and field trips including completion of bus request forms
- Maintain and reconcile budget related documentation and report information to administrative team in a timely manner. Manage program logistics (assign rooms manage materials and resources) meet deadlines follow protocol (allergies medication fieldtrips student safety) complete required reports and provide required documentation.
Minimal Educational Requirements:
- Bachelors Degree from an accredited college or university with certifications and endorsements as applicable.
- Type 75 license preferred.
Experience:
- Classroom experience preferred.
- Prior experience working in an after school program or summer programming is preferred but not required.

Other skills and abilities:
- Ability to assess children and knowledge of childhood development.
- Ability to communicate and work effectively on a collaborative team.
- Ability to effectively work with students with a history of behavioral social/emotional and/or developmental disabilities.
- Knowledge of trauma-informed practices and responses preferred.
Licenses/Credentials:
- Valid Illinois Teaching License with the appropriate endorsement.
- Type 75 Administrative License preferred.
Terms of Employment:
- Daily hours 8:30-3:30 four days a week (June 8 - July 16 2026); closed June 18th for Juneteenth and July 6 for the 4th of July.
- The position is for summer programming only when the program is in session.
- Develop and implement an orientation meeting prior to the start of this program.
Evaluation:
Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Boards policy on the evaluation of professional personnel.
NOTE:
- This position is not part of the collective bargaining unit and is not administrative in nature.
- Position contingent upon grant funding.
- Staff must formally apply by April 7 2026.
- Hourly Position - $42/hour $1000 planning stipend
