ASSA ABLOY is looking to add an experienced Welder to our Rocky Mountain Service Center or regional manufacturing facility located in Aurora Colorado.

What would you do as our Welder II

As a Welder II you will perform MIG welding on hollow metal door and frame assemblies. The primary function of this role will be the safe accurate assembly of 3 sided frames and basic elevations. This role requires a solid understanding of MIG welding fabrication techniques and the ability to read and understand elevation drawings. You will play an important role in supporting production goals maintaining quality standards and contributing to a safe and efficient manufacturing environment.

You would also:

  • Perform MIG welding on door and frame components including 3-sided frames and elevation welds ensuring consistent weld quality.
  • Read and interpret manufacturing drawings blueprints to understand job requirements and specifications.
  • Prepare materials and components by grinding cleaning and fitting parts prior to welding.
  • Grind sand and finish welded components to ensure proper finish and paint readiness.
  • Inspect welds during and after production to ensure they meet quality and dimensional standards.
  • Identify and correct common weld defects such as porosity undercutting and incomplete fusion.
  • Operate fabrication equipment including but not limited to MIG welders grinders buffers hand tools and band saws.
  • Maintain a clean organized and safe workstation while ensuring welding tools and equipment are properly maintained.
  • Follow all company safety policies and procedures including the use of required personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Work collaboratively with supervisors and team members to support production targets reduce rework and improve workflow efficiency.

The Skills and Experience you need:

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum 1 year of recent MIG welding experience in a manufacturing or fabrication environment.
  • Proficiency in MIG welding techniques.
  • Ability to read manufacturing or shop drawings and weld symbols.
  • Basic fabrication and layout skills including measuring and material preparation.
  • Experience operating welding and fabrication equipment such as grinders and buffers.
  • Ability to identify common weld defects and perform corrective actions.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in a production environment.

Pay rate: $ 24.50 per hour
