SUMMARY:
The person in this position operates equipment as part of a crew to build repair or maintain track.
***Qualified candidate must have prior experience operating a MOW Track Grapple Truck and other heavy equipment and hold a valid CDL Class A.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Operate equipment in a safe and efficient manner in accordance with regulations policies and procedures
- Perform equipment safety and maintenance checks
- Report any and all defects or needed repairs to supervisor
- Participate in job briefings and understand daily production goals
- Perform preventative maintenance minor repairs and adjustments to equipment as needed
- Fill out and maintain required regulatory forms
- Promote a safe and drug-free working environment
- Manage other projects and perform other duties as assigned
REQUIRED SKILLS AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
- At least two years of verifiable experience operating railroad maintenance-of-way equipment
- Ability to perform routine maintenance and troubleshoot equipment problems
- Ability to understand and carry out oral and written communication both general and technical
- Ability to occasionally lift up to sixty pounds
- Ability to operate equipment in varying working and weather conditions
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND/OR CREDENTIALS:
- High school diploma GED or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- ValidCommercial Drivers License (CDL) required Class A
Employment Requirements:
- Pre-employment physical hearing and vision medical review
- May be subject to federally mandated drug and alcohol testing including pre-employment drug screening
- Background screening including criminal and motor vehicle driving history
Relocation:
Must live within 50 miles of assigned location or be willing to relocate. Relocation assistance is not offered for this position.
