Job Summary
The Director of Philanthropic Engagement is an integral partner to the Vice President of Community Impact. This person leads the development and execution of diverse internal and external fundraising and engagement initiatives across the Credit Unions regional markets-including program oversight employee and member campaigns signature Credit Union fundraising events and strategic business partnerships. This person is responsible for cultivating and stewarding member partner community and donor relationships driving philanthropic revenue and expanding community and corporate engagement to advance the Credit Unions philanthropic presence and mission of bringing attainable housing and financial wellness within reach of everyone. This position offers the opportunity to play a pivotal role in shaping the future of shaping the Credit Unions philanthropic identity and community impact.
Essential Functions
- Fundraising & Philanthropic Growth: Lead the strategy development and execution of comprehensive fundraising initiatives including major gifts employee and member campaigns corporate partnerships and community engagement. Drive philanthropic revenue growth through relationship-based cultivation and stewardship of donors and partners. Ensure strong alignment between fundraising activities and overall community impact strategy. Lead the strategic positioning of the Credit Unions philanthropic vision and impact internally across membership and throughout the communities served. Serve as a critical thought partner to the Vice President of Community Impact elevating conversations to strategic direction and long-term vision when needed.
- Employee & Member Engagement Campaigns: Design launch and manage multi-channel campaigns that increase employee and member participation and giving. Collaborate cross-functionally to promote engagement initiatives and build broad internal ownership of philanthropic goals. Maintain a strong emphasis on relationship-building and long-term donor engagement.
- Strategic Events & Engagement: Provide strategic oversight of signature fundraising and community engagement events-from concept and alignment through post-event stewardship. Establish clear goals tied to return on investment (ROI) return on energy (ROE) and return on relationships (ROR). Oversee budgets logistics volunteer coordination and donor follow-up to maximize impact and long-term engagement.
- Business Development & Community Partnerships: Identify cultivate and steward partnerships with corporate civic and community stakeholders that align with philanthropic priorities. Develop mutually beneficial initiatives that expand visibility deepen community relationships and generate sustained philanthropic investment.
- Staff Leadership/Management: Supervise and mentor staff fostering a high-performing collaborative and mission-driven team culture. Provide clear direction ongoing coaching and regular feedback to support professional growth and accountability. Support staff development plans through consistent coaching dialogues. Handle supervisory responsibilities including performance evaluations time-off approvals and disciplinary actions.
- Bank Secrecy Act: Remains cognizant of and adheres to Wings policies and procedures and regulations pertaining to the Bank Secrecy Act.
Qualifications :
Minimum Formal Qualifications for this Position
- Bachelors Degree in nonprofit management communications public relations business administration marketing philanthropy public administration or a related field
- Masters Degree preferred
- 8 years of experience in fundraising community relations or business/corporate partnership development. Required
- 3 years team leadership/management experience. Required
Technical or Specialized Knowledge/Skills:
- Deep knowledge of relationship-based fundraising strategies including grant development donor stewardship and multi-channel engagement campaigns.
- Strong business acumen with the ability to apply business development principles and interpret financial and fundraising data to drive strategic decisions.
- Ability to cultivate steward and sustain strategic corporate civic and community partnerships aligned with mission and shared value.
- Demonstrated strength in leading cross-functional collaboration to execute fundraising campaign and engagement initiatives successfully.
- Exceptional written verbal and presentation skills; effectively engages diverse audiences in 1:1 group and community settings.
- Strong organizational and project leadership skills; sets clear objectives develops structured plans manages timelines and measures outcomes.
- Ability to steward donors and partners authentically building long-term relationships grounded in trust and organizational values.
Certifications Required:
- Valid Drivers License required
Additional Information :
The pay range for this position is: $164000 - $180000 (S19) plus 20% annual target bonus.
Final compensation for this position will be determined by various factors such as relevant work experience specific skills and competencies education certifications location and internal pay equity.
