Subject to formal establishment a vacancy may arise for a Sgt (Any Profession) to serve as Community Support Officer at RAF Lossiemouth on Additional Duties Commitment (180) Terms and Conditions of Service (TCoS) with an initial proposed start date of 10 August 2026 (or earlier/later subject to candidate status and formal establishment).
The post is to support the smooth running of the Community Support office providing first-line individual and community support to Service personnel and their families. You will be required to work closely with other members of the Stn Community Support team and local welfare agencies including the SSAFA Padres medical staff and local authority representatives where appropriate. Where individual welfare needs are identified you are to signpost the individual to the most appropriate welfare agency. You will be responsible for:
- Working as part of the wider Community Support Team support delivery of the Community Needs Analysis process and help develop new initiatives to respond to emerging need and supporting the sustainment of current Community Support offer.
- Assisting with the management and delivery of the Deployment Support Programme (DSP) including developing a booking mechanism to manage the process risk assessments bookings financial planning and delivery of events. This will involve evening and weekend hours.
- Generating and managing a programme for personnel within the SLA to include sourcing funding as appropriate.
- Acting as building custodian for both RAF Lossiemouth Childcare Centre and The Circle Community Centre ensuring these facilities are well maintained and compliant with polices and manage all inventories held by Community Support team.
- Developing and delivering effective communication outputs including briefing slides posters & social media to ensure the Community Support offer is widely understood both on Station and into the family networks.
- Provide support to the deployment briefings and recall days as needed.
- Supporting SFHO with any matters relating to Service Families Accommodation.
