Job Summary

Position Overview

Maverick Volleyball Club is seeking an independent Technical Expert in Strength & Conditioning to support both the evaluation of vendor proposals and the oversight of selected training services.
This engagement is structured in two defined phases:
  • Phase 1: RFP Evaluation (April 30 2026)
  • Technical review and scoring ofsubmittedproposals including advisory support in vendor selection.
  • Phase 2: Program Oversight (June 1 2026 May 312027)
  • Ongoing monitoring and quality assurance of the selected vendor(s) strength and conditioning programming.

During Phase 2 the Technical Expert will alsoestablishand lead a small advisory committee of subject-matter expertsto support program evaluation and provide multi-disciplinary perspectives. The Technical Expert will act in anindependent advisory capacity providing objective evidence-based assessments to support decision-making and ensure alignment with current industry standards. The Technical Expert will report to the National and Provincial Program Manager.

Scope of Work
Phase 1: RFP Evaluation
  • Review and scoreseven vendorproposalsagainst predefined technical criteria.
  • Assess program design periodization load management strategies and athlete monitoring approaches.
  • Participate in evaluation meetings and ifrequired vendor interviews.
  • Provide awritten evaluation summary and scoring rationaleto support final selection decisions.

Estimated Commitment:30 hoursover6weeks.

Phase 2: Program Oversight (June 1 2026 May 31 2027)
Program Oversight
  • Conduct periodic () reviews of vendor programming and delivery.
  • Evaluate alignment with approved proposals and recognized strength and conditioning standards.
  • Review KPIs related to athlete development performance and injury risk management.
  • Providewritten reports with findings and recommendationsfollowing each review cycle.
  • Flag material risks gaps or deviations from agreed standards.

Expert Advisory Committee
  • Establish and chair asmall advisory committee(i.e. 35 members)with complementaryexpertise( science physiotherapy high-performance coaching).
  • Provide recommendations on committee composition for approval by Maverick Volleyball Club.
  • Lead periodic committee reviews (i.e. aligned with reporting cycles) to gather diverse technical perspectives.
  • Synthesize committee input into clear actionable recommendations for Maverick Volleyball Club.

Clarifications:
  • Maverick Volleyball Club willapprove committee members anddeterminecompensation (if applicable).
  • The Technical Expertis responsible forcoordination and leadership not contracting or paying committee members unless otherwise agreed.

Authority & Reporting
  • The Technical Expert providesindependent recommendationsto Maverick Volleyball Club leadership.
  • Final decisionsregardingvendor selection program changes and implementation remain with Maverick Volleyball Club.
  • The Expert may recommend corrective actions but does not have direct authority to enforce operational changes.

Conflict of Interest & Eligibility
To ensure a fair and impartial process:

  • The selected Technical Expert their business entities and any affiliated training facilitiesare not eligible tosubmita proposal orparticipateas a vendorin this RFP.
  • Affiliates include organizations where the candidate has a financial interest employment relationship or active coaching role.
  • Candidates mustdiscloseanycurrent or recent (within the past 2 years)relationships with potential bidders.
  • Maverick Volleyball Club reserves the right todeterminewhether a disclosed relationshipconstitutesa conflict of interest.

Context: Athlete Population
  • Competitive volleyball athletes (youth to high-performance levels11Uto 18U)
  • Focus on long-term athlete development performance enhancement and injury prevention
  • Programs may include off-season pre-season and in-season training phases

Qualifications
  • Bachelors orMastersdegree in Exercise Science Kinesiology or related field
  • CSCS (or equivalent) certificationrequired
  • 710 years of experience in strength and conditioning ideally in volleyball or comparable team sports
  • Experience evaluating programs systems or vendors is strongly preferred

Deliverables
Phase 1:
  • Completed scoring matrix
  • Written evaluation summary with recommendations
Phase 2:
  • Quarterly (or agreed frequency) oversight reports
  • Committee-informed evaluation summaries
  • Final annual program assessment (May 2027)


Compensation & Structure
  • Compensation structure (fixed fee or hourly) will be defined based on the agreed scope for each phase.
  • Proponents are encouraged to propose a fee structure aligned with the outlined scope and deliverables.

An experienced independent strength and conditioning professional with the ability to critically evaluate programming lead collaborative expert discussions and communicate clear actionable recommendations whilemaintainingobjectivity and high-performance standards.
