Description

The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Rice University located in Houston Texas seeks applications for an open rank Teaching Track Professor position with an anticipated start date of July 1 2026. Applicants must designate the rank for which they wish to be considered as evaluation criteria vary by rank.

We encourage applications from candidates in Statistics Data Science and Artificial Intelligence particularly as applied to healthcare and medicine. Candidates with strengths in online and hybrid curriculum development that integrate asynchronous and synchronous instructional modalities especially in Digital Health (broadly defined) are strongly encouraged to apply.

The selected candidate will be expected to teach and develop undergraduate and graduate courses within their area of expertise contribute to service at the departmental school and university levels and demonstrate knowledge of or a record of using evidence-based pedagogical practices. This is an open-rank teaching-track appointment and expectations will be commensurate with rank. All candidates should demonstrate a strong commitment to high-quality undergraduate instruction effective teaching practices and service.

About the Master of Digital Health Program

The Master of Digital Health (MDH) at Rice University is an interdisciplinary graduate program within the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering designed to train the next generation of engineer-leaders to shape the future of healthcare innovation.
