Direct Support Professional Youth Caregiver Summer Position!

Job Summary
What You Get To Do:
The DSP (caregiver)is responsible forproviding direct support hands-on instructionassistance and positive direction to children teens and young adults (ages 12-21) with intellectual/developmental disabilities (I/DD)in a manner that ensures their health safety successful achievement of serviceobjectives and personal goals.

- Enrich and support the lives of our residents whilemaintaininga safe and healthy environment
- Provide companionship and personalized care while encouraging independence and self-care.
- Assistwith activities of daily living including dressing bathing grooming toileting and eating.
- Prepare meals and snacks.
- Perform light housekeeping and laundry duties.
- Provide mobility and transferassistance which mayinclude usingmechanical lift devices.
- Implement positive behavior supports and de-escalate challenging behaviors when needed.
- Other duties as assigned

Qualifications :
What Makes You a Great Fit:
- 6 months of professional work experience supporting vulnerable populations required (ex. caregiver nanny paraeducator direct support professional etc.)
- 6 months of volunteer experience may be used in leui of professional work experience.
- Must be 21 years of age or older per Washington state licensing requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- Havea passion to help youth through person-centered care
- Dependable adaptableandflexible
- Must be able to provide references
- Able to attend two weeks of PAID in-house orientation and training
- Good communication is key in this role. Youll rely on your reading writing and communication skills to document care follow support plans and collaborate with both internal and external team members.
