Sr. Accounting Analyst II (Sao PauloHybrid)
Job Summary
Position Summary:
Reporting to the Accounting Manager AMR the Sr. Accounting Analyst II will be a key member of Illuminas accounting team and will have direct exposure in supporting Illuminas growth.
The ideal candidate will support the Manager in addressing complex issues and projects while working collaboratively with finance and crossfunctional teams. This role requires the ability to communicate effectively in a teamoriented environment and to interact professionally with stakeholders at all levels of the organization including international team members and external auditors.
*This person must reside in Sao Paulo and commute 2 days/week to our corporate LATAM HQ. Please submit resume/CV in English.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with bookkeeping service providers and support corporate accounting on aspects of the monthly accounting close process including ensuring all costs incurred are properly recorded reviewing account balance reconciliations variance analysis reconciliation between third party records and Illumina SAP book of records.
- Review service provider support to ensure importation process invoicing and prepayments are accurate and processed within 24-hour period outlined in the Service Level Agreement.
- Collaborate with corporate tax accounting and service providers to support accurate and timely transfer pricing models local tax filings and other general tax compliance as needed.
- Collaborate with service provider to ensure accurate and timely management of inventory in SAP including reviewing the monthly inventory reconciliation.
- Collaborate with service provider to follow capital management process including reviewing asset management and depreciation schedules.
- Support local Commercial and Customer Services teams to address any payment invoicing payroll procurement commissions and policy questions as needed.
- Support EMEALA Commercial Finance team as needed on accounting issues that impact revenue projections revenue and OpEx forecasting.
- Collaborate with corporate accounting team to ensure compliance with statutory reporting requirements
- Initiate and drive projects to enhance and automate internal controls over financial reporting (system enhancements integrations implementations etc.)
- Support internal and external business partners as well as regional teams
- Coordinate with external auditors throughout the preliminary and final audit processes providing all requested documentation information and clarifications in a timely manner

Requirements:
- Bachelors or higher degree in Accounting
- Typically requires a minimum of 8 years of accounting and finance experience with a Bachelors degree; or 6 years and a Masters degree; or a PhD with 3 years of experience; or equivalent experience.
- Must be able to conduct business in English and Portuguese (Spanish a plus)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications especially Microsoft Excel
Preferred Qualifications:
- CPA or local equivalent and/ or Big 4/ Regional Public Accounting experience preferred
- Life science and manufacturing industries accounting experience a plus
- Prior experience in SAP and BlackLine experience a plus
