Job Description
Our client a rapidly growing and entrepreneurial manufacturing company in Dartmouth is seeking a Manager Accounting to help shape their financial operations and support exciting growth across the business.
This role comes as a result of the companys rapid expansion and continued success and will lead core accounting functions ensure accurate and timely financial reporting and provide valuable insights to support strategic decision-making.
Key Responsibilities for the Job:
- Lead and oversee the full-cycle accounting function including general ledger accounts payable/receivable payroll and month- and year-end closing processes
- Prepare review and analyze financial statements budgets forecasts and variance reports
- Drive cost management and reporting by monitoring manufacturing costs and maintaining robust cost accounting systems
- Develop implement and maintain internal controls policies and procedures to improve accuracy efficiency and scalability of accounting operations
- Provide strategic financial insights risk assessments and recommendations to support executive decision-making and business growth initiatives
- Lead or support ERP system evaluations implementations process automation and other finance-related strategic projects
- Mentor coach and guide accounting team members to build capability and foster a high-performing finance team
- Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation strongly preferred
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience including leadership or supervisory responsibilities
- Experience in manufacturing or product-based industries is an asset
- Strong knowledge of cost accounting financial reporting and internal controls
- High proficiency with accounting software ERP systems and advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Excellent analytical leadership and communication abilities with a proven track record of influencing business decisions
- Adaptable organized and detail-oriented able to thrive in a fast-growing environment and support evolving processes
