Job Summary

Join our Michelin One Key-awarded hotel (two years running) and live by the credo Make It Count. Lead and mentor a team of 80 across multiple kitchens and event spaces in a fast-paced hot and humid 24-hour operation. Ensure the highest standards of cleanliness safety and efficiency while fostering a culture of leadership accountability and excellence.

Competitive Salary: $60000 - 61000 gross annually based on previous experience & education

Job Duties Include:  

Reporting to the Chief Steward responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following: 

  • Lead teach coach and inspire a team of colleagues and leaders in a 24 hour operation
  • Set and achieve departmental and supervisory goals in the areas of the budget of capital labor and operating expenses.  Health & Safety Sustainability and the Employee Engagement Survey
  • Assist the Chief Steward in managing procurement and inventory minimizing expenses and increase employee productivity
  • Conduct quarterly china glassware silverware inventory and document variances and discrepancies
  • Conduct audits with local health inspector and (EHC) Environmental Health Consultancy auditor representative in the absence of the Chief Steward
  • Uphold all hygiene and sanitation regulations ensuring that all equipment in the kitchens and dishwashing areas are clean and in good working order
  • Ensure colleagues are trained and fallow ALLSAFE health and safety protocols
  • Conduct Audits and Performance Discussions for Stewarding Supervisors and Colleagues ensuring that all Progressive Corrective Action forms are completed correctly and forwarded to the Chief Steward
  • Foster an environment of cooperation within the department and between other departments within the hotel encouraging participation and input from all colleagues while promoting professional work habits
  • Conduct audits and gain feedback from the employee engagement survey process and put action plans into place and ensure goals are met.
  • Input work orders on items needing repair
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications :

Required experience:

  • Minimum of 3 years Stewarding leadership experience in a high-volume service environment.
  • Proven track record as an administrator trainer and developer; a team player with strong communication and organizational skills across all departments.
  • Valid WHMIS certification required.
  • Class 5 Drivers License required with the ability to operate a company vehicle up to 3 tons; must provide an updated drivers abstract.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead with influence fostering trust accountability and a culture of excellence.
  • Proven success in recruiting mentoring and retaining top-tier talent with a focus on long-term succession planning.
  • Strategic and operational expertise in labor management cost control and productivity optimization.
  • Strong organizational and administrative skills including proficiency with systems such as Birchstreet Watson and payroll management platforms.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Strong financial acumen including expertise in labor and food cost management.
  • Exceptional leadership organizational time management and communication skills with the ability to inspire a large brigade.
