What We Are Looking For

Baylor University is seeking a Coordinator of the Center for Writing Excellence. The Coordinator of the Center for Writing Excellence (CWE) reports to the Managing Director and works closely with the DUW (Division of Undergraduate Writing) Director and Assistant Director and DGW (Division of Graduate Writing) Director to oversee the CWEs day-to-day operations. Responsibilities include supervising approximately 20 CWE student staff; coordinating student employee schedules; managing WCOnline; and collecting assessment data. This is a full-time 40-hour per week in-person position.

A Bachelors degree and less than a year of relevant work experience required. A Bachelors degree and one year of relevant work experience are preferred.

All applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.

What You Will Do

  • Oversee daily operations and workflow of the CWE
  • Create OA and DUW student staff schedules for fall spring and summer including Tutoring Writing students
  • Manage and track DUW and Office Assistant time-off requests and missed work
  • Manage hiring and onboarding for student employees including requisitions applications interviews and additional stipend requests
  • Utilize Ignite for administrative financial and procurement tasks
  • Submit personnel-related forms to Student Employment to maintain records
  • Maintain and update CWE staff lists
  • Manage WCOnline WCOnline and Box administrative permissions the CWE email account and DUW and Office Assistant communication channels (i.e. Teams)
  • Attend CWE leadership team meetings
  • Collaborate with CWE Leadership Team to draft and update policies
  • Make purchases and track expenses
  • Coordinate logistics for CWE events (room reservations calendar invites catering)
  • Maintain the CWEs physical space including the storage closet
  • Participate in department college and university professional development sessions and meetings
  • Organize and share DUW appointment data and share with campus partners
  • Supervise student employees working in the Division of Undergraduate Writing and the Center for Writing Excellence coordinating with the CWE Leadership Team Student Employment and Human Resources as needed
  • Train new Office Assistants and plan ongoing professional development for them
  • Review and approve student worker timecards and balance graduate student worker hours
  • Manage student employee leaves of absence
  • Monitor missing consultation notes and ensure timely upload by employees
  • Supervise student employees in the DUW during the intersessions (Summer Wintermester Minimester)
  • Collect and organize WCOnline data and statistics each semester and share with CWE Leadership Team members
  • Download and share client feedback with consultants and CWE directors
  • Analyze WCOnline and client feedback data to inform program improvements and staff development
  • Submit news items to Baylor News Digest
  • Send WCOnline mass emails
  • Order promotional and branded products as needed
  • Participate in outreach events during the intersessions and as needed during the academic year
  • Perform all other duties as assigned to support Baylors mission
  • Ability to comply with university policies
  • Maintain regular and punctual attendance
