Job Summary

The Vall dHebron Research Institute (VHIR) is a public-sector institution based in Barcelona Spain dedicated to promoting and advancing innovative biomedical research at Vall dHebron University Hospital. The successful candidate will participate in projects focused on the study of cognitive alterations secondary to traumatic brain injury hydrocephalus and cerebellar cognitive-affective syndrome.

Main responsibilities and duties:

We are seeking a highly motivated Research Support Graduate to assist the Principal Investigator during the final phase of the FIS project PI22/01082. The successful candidate will play a key role in:

  • Completing the migration management and utilisation of the project database in REDCap.

  • Supporting clinical neuropsychological and neuroimaging data workflows.

  • Conducting structured data export cleaning and preprocessing.

  • Supporting multivariate statistical analyses aligned with the projects scientific objectives.

Education and qualifications:
Required:
  • Masters degree in Biomedicine Psychology Statistics Data Science Neuroscience or related discipline.

  • Demonstrated experience with REDCap including project design database management and structured data export.

  • Solid understanding of statistical analysis including multivariate methods.

  • Experience working with clinical or research databases ensuring data quality and regulatory compliance.

  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a multidisciplinary clinicalresearch environment.

  • Strong organisational documentation and datamanagement skills.

Desirable:
  • Experience in handling neuroimaging data including organisation preprocessing and quality control.

  • Familiarity with DEEPCERES or other automated cerebellar morphometric or segmentation tools.

  • Experience using R MATLAB or similar statistical and scientific-computing environments.

  • Knowledge of neurological or neurosurgical research settings particularly studies involving Chiari malformation or neurocognitive assessment.

  • Experience in longitudinal data management including followup tracking repeatedmeasures structures and timedependent data workflows.

Experience and knowledge:
Required:

Data Management & REDCap Operations:

  • Finalise the integration of clinical neuropsychological and neuroimaging datasets into REDCap.

  • Ensure data quality through validation consistency checks and audit trails.

  • Oversee data entry workflows user permissions and structured export pipelines.

  • Maintain the projects central data repository in line with reproducible research standards.

Neuroimaging & Morphometric Data Support:

  • Assist with the preprocessing organisation and documentation of neuroimaging data.

  • Contribute to the management of datasets generated using DEEPCERES.

  • Support the Principal Investigator in linking neuroimaging outputs with clinical and cognitive variables.

Statistical Analysis & Reporting:

  • Support the Principal Investigator in applying:

  • Regression models (linear logistics)

  • Principal Component Analysis (PCA)

  • Multivariate models

  • Prepare datasets for analysis (cleaning coding normalization outlier handling).

  • Assist in producing interim reports results tables and methodological documentation.

General Research Support:

  • Contribute to the organization and monitoring of longitudinal followup assestments.

  • Prepare data summaries for manuscripts internal meetings and regulatory reporting.

  • Ensure compliance with data protection regulations and research ethics standards.

Labour conditions:

  • Working hours: Full-time (375 hours per week).

  • Starting date: As soon as possible.

  • Gross annual salary: Remuneration will be determined by experience skills and responsibilities and aligned with the Collective Agreement pay scale.

  • Contract type: Technical and scientific activities contract linked to project activities.
