Based in ourCambridge office(with flexible hybrid working) you will be part of ansportation energy buildings and places and water markets.

Your role
- Preparation and delivery ofa wide variety ofreports including material management plans(MMPs)verification reports permit applications waste sampling plans ground investigationreportsand contaminated land assessments.
- Design organise and undertakesite investigations/waste assessments.
- Auditing of contractors to assess if they are compliant with material management plans environmentalpermitsand waste legislation.
- Managing the implementationand verificationofaMMPat a client site (this may require working out of a client office).
- Liaison with clients stakeholders regulatorscontractors and other internal disciplines.
- Work effectively as part of a team and with other professionals (environmental scientists engineers planners) to provide a consistent and integrated service to our clients.
- Compliance with Health and Safety Policies and Procedures including preparinghealth and safety plans and managing health and safety on site.
- Developing own competence and maintain CPD necessary to fulfil the responsibilities of the role with support from the business on own training and development needs.
- Management of own work including supporting senior management to ensure projects are deliveredon-time on budget and to quality and client expectations.
About you
- Degree qualified in a relevant engineering or science subject (e.g. geology geography hydrogeology chemistry earth sciences environmental science).
- Working towards Chartered Membership of relevant professional body.
- Relevant post-graduate experience (ideally within a consultancy environment) witha track recordin delivering workon-time on budget and to quality and client expectations.
- Demonstratable understanding ofmaterial managementand waste aspects on a development siteincluding understanding of relevant codes of practice and industry standards/ guidance(e.g. Definition of Waste: Development Industry Code of Practice and Technical Guidance WM3).
- Experience in relevant site-based work including undertaking soil and rock logging soil/gas/vapour/leachate/groundwater and surface water monitoring/sampling andproviding supervision and management of contractors undertaking trial pitting and drilling activities on sites.
- Good organisational skills and an appetite for undertaking outdoor work in all weathers (alongside a variety of desk-based tasks) are essential.
- Keen team player keen to learn and make a difference.
- Full UK driving licence and the ability and willingness to travel throughout the UK and work from client offices / sites.
Desirable Criteria (but not essential)
- Is trained in how to useHazWasteOnline.
- Has attended theCL:AIREDefinition of Waste: Code of Practice Training.
