Job Summary
MalaceHR is seeking anOperating Engineer to support maintenance operations within a fast-paced automated distribution warehouse environment. This role is heavily focused on maintaining and troubleshooting automated equipment including conveyor systems to ensure efficient and continuous operations.
The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in industrial maintenance and be comfortable working alongside remote engineers via phone support to diagnose and resolve equipment issues. Experience with HMI systems is a strong plus.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform maintenance troubleshooting and repair of automated warehouse equipment including conveyor systems
- Support daily operations by ensuring all mechanical and electrical systems are functioning efficiently
- Diagnose equipment issues and collaborate with offsite engineers via phone to implement solutions
- Perform preventive maintenance on machinery and facility systems to minimize downtime
- Monitor system performance and respond quickly to operational disruptions
- Maintain and troubleshoot basic electrical mechanical and control systems
- Utilize HMI interfaces for system monitoring diagnostics and adjustments (if applicable)
- Complete general facility maintenance tasks as needed to support warehouse operations
- Document maintenance activities repairs and system performance accurately
- Adhere to all safety protocols and maintain a clean organized work environment
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of experience in industrial warehouse or distribution maintenance
- Hands-on experience working with conveyor systems and automated equipment
- Strong troubleshooting skills across mechanical and basic electrical systems
- Ability to work independently while also collaborating with remote engineering support
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced production-driven environment
- Strong commitment to safety and compliance standards
- Ability to lift climb and perform physical maintenance tasks
Preferred Qualifications
- Background in automated distribution or fulfillment center environments
- Familiarity with preventive maintenance programs
- Exposure to PLC-controlled systems or industrial controls (a plus)
- Previous experience in a lead or senior technician capacity
