Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse (L&D RN) to provide high-quality care within a rural hospital setting in Hawaii. This role supports approximately 45 50 deliveries per month and requires strong skills in Labor & Delivery Nursery care and couplet care.

Nurses in this role may assist other units as needed but will not be assigned as the primary nurse outside their specialty. Charge duties may be assigned with additional compensation.

Key Responsibilities

Provide comprehensive care in Labor & Delivery Nursery and couplet care environments
Perform intermediate or advanced fetal monitoring
Support 45 50 deliveries monthly in a rural community setting
Deliver safe evidence-based care following professional standards
Collaborate effectively with physicians midwives and interdisciplinary teams
May float to other departments for support (not as the primary nurse)
Complete documentation using EPIC EMR
Maintain adherence to hospital policies safety guidelines and patient care protocols

Schedule & Workload

12-hour night shifts
72 80 hours per two-week period
Holiday coverage required

Minimum Requirements

4 years of recent Nursing experience
Current Hawaii RN License (Active)
Must have Labor & Delivery experience
Experience in Nursery and couplet care
Proficiency with intermediate or advanced fetal monitoring
EMR: EPIC

Required Certifications

BLS / BCLS
ACLS
NRP
CPI
ENPC
RNC-Fetal Monitoring (Intermediate/Advanced) or equivalent EFM certification
Additional preferred/acceptable certifications:
- RNC-OB
- RNC-NIC
- STABLE
- NIHSS
- AWHONN
- ASLS
- NBSTSA
- Other specialty-relevant certifications
