Job Description:

The Mid Software QA Engineer is an IT Applications Testing Shared Services resource responsible for Systems Testing of start-up implementations and O&M software development projects. The Mid QA Engineer is required to perform analysis and review systems requirements partner with development and DevOps engineering teams to understand project objectives and gather requirements to design tests with a focus on automation for reusability and maintainability. This position will be required to develop test strategy in a hybrid setting while maximizing use of test automation for our web-based applications. Responsibilities will include mentoring testing team members participating in performing POC/research for new process/tools making recommendations and implementation upon management approval.

Responsibilities:
Participate in test planning test case writing and execution in a hybrid testing approach through automation and manual test execution
Participate in manual and automated test management activities for testing web-based and/or mobile applications including
Manage the Defect Lifecycle process from reporting bugs through closure
Identify and prepare test data for testing
Provide regular updates to the Test/Project Manager
Attend project-related meetings as needed
Provide testing estimations for manual testing and input into automation estimates
Maintain the projects manual test and automation documentation
Provide UAT support for their test data needs
Other testing-related duties as per project needs.

Technical Skills / Knowledge Required:
Minimum 3 years experience in required skills for Automation and Manual testing in a medium to large complex web-based project preferably in the Healthcare industry
Proficient in writing test cases and execution in an Agile environment
Hands-on experience in Se with Python coding for test automation. Java will be considered but willing to learn Python.
Proficient in Rest components/APIs for testing web services and web applications with tools such as Postman
Hands-on experience in building automated test scripts
Demonstrated proficiency with SQL for creating/modifying queries for backend and ETL testing
Must function at the expert level with testing web-based and/or mobile applications and defect management tools processes and reporting.
Unix/Linux/ command line experience
Working experience with AWS fundamentals and core concepts for test development and execution
Familiar with technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes and running automation scripts through CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins or tools in AWS ecosystem


Personal/Soft Skills:
Excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to present analysis of results in a clear and concise manner.
Ability to do presentations and walkthroughs with Systems and Business personnel
Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment under deadlines in a changing environment.
Must be organized and detail-oriented.

Additional Skills / Knowledge:
Automation experience in an agile Scrum fast-paced environment.
Healthcare Industry experience is preferred.
Nice to have: Experience using AI-assisted tools to improve test efficiency quality and coverage (e.g. GitHub Copilot Microsoft Copilot AI-based test generation or analysis tools)
Familiarity with applying AI/ML capabilities for test case generation test data creation defect analysis or test optimization

Education Requirement:
Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university in information technology computer science statistics or a related field.
