Experience Preferred:
- Minimum of three successful years of teaching (elementary level preferred)
- Successful administrative and supervisory experience preferred

REPORTS TO: Executive Director of Elementary Operations in conjunction with the Superintendent and Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum and Instruction
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
The essential functions of each employees position includes (1) regular dependable in-person attendance on the job; (2) the ability to perform the identified tasks and to possess and utilize the identified knowledge skills and abilities and to perform the identified work activities; and (3) the ability to perform the physical requirements on their specific job description.
Basic:
To develop and maintain an elementary school with a high quality staff and a curriculum which is relevant to the individual and collective needs of the students in keeping with the philosophy of the District and within the framework of limitations and resources outlined by the Board of Education and superintendent.
Frequent:
- Serve as the educational leader of the school and as a positive contributing member of the administrative team.
- Provide a leadership structure to ensure rules and instructions to school employees and students are in compliance with Board policy.
- Develop strategies to promote parental involvement in their childrens education and provide opportunities for parent-teacher interaction.
- Adhere to all District policies rules regulations and supervisory directives.
- Supervise instruction in all elementary subject areas in assigned building.
- Supervise and evaluate total staff performance (teachers aides specialists etc.)
- Supervise and maintain an acceptable standard of behavior in students.
- Responsible for determining student suspension from school according to Board policy and Nebraska Statute.
- Provide orientation for staff members assigned to the building.
- Supervise the general upkeep of school building(s) and grounds.
- Maintain equipment supplies and appropriate inventories.
- Plan schedule and conduct staff meetings as needed.
- Maintain up-to-date student records; provide for student safety for positive climate in the building for collection of funds for cafeteria supervision for assignment of students to classrooms for implementation of the District and building goals and objectives and for coordinating school activities and programs.
- Responsible for developing budget plans for assigned building(s).
- Be the educational leader within the building and coordinate special programs.
- Serve as coordinator of the K-4 curriculum area and serve as a representative on a K-12 curriculum area.
- Ensure guidance and counseling service is available to students and parents and provide personal and professional guidance to staff members.
- Be aware of resources that are available to ensure proper professional help for individuals.
- Assist in being responsible for K-4 testing program and assist in the coordination of staffing procedures for special needs of pupils.
- Assist in developing in-service programs both at the building level and District level.
- Responsible for grade meetings for interpreting curriculum and District policies and for public relations as it concerns assigned building.
- Coordinate Parent/Teacher Conferences.
- Responsible for authorizing scheduling and implementation of student participation in the food service program; for the operation of the busing program within the building when applicable; for coordinating and implementing elementary after-school athletic program (if applicable); and for in-house substitution for emergency purposes.
