Job Summary
Essential Job Functions
- Ensures compliance with all applicable federal state and local legislation and codes governing environmental health and safety.
- Develops and implements policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulations and guidelines.
- Designs and implements programs to train managers and employees in safe operating procedures.
- Conducts and coordinates on-site reviews audits and safety inspections in multiple locations.
- Develops and implements accident and injury investigations and takes the lead in the preparation of material for hearings and insurance investigations should they arise.
- Coordinates all emergency response procedures.
- Maintains OSHA logs and prepare and submits reports to agencies.
- Monitors all current information on regulations and requirements related to safety.
- Other duties as assigned
Other Skills & Abilities
- Significant knowledge of OSHA standards compliance legislation and ergonomic standards.
- Expert/Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel Word PowerPoint)
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills (verbal written and comprehension)
- Highly motivated and energetic with a proven ability to work in a fast-paced and continually changing environment
- Ability to operate independently and within a team environment
- Ability to work with technical and non-technical staff at all levels
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Demonstrates initiative and adaptability
Physical Requirements
- Talking hearing and using hands to operate a computer keyboard mouse and other computer components
- Sitting for extended periods of time
- Vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus
Education & Experience
- Bachelors Degree in Safety Management or Environmental Science Applied or Basic Science or related field degree required.
- Safety and Compliance Certification preferred.
- Minimum 3 or more years safety compliance experience.
- Minimum 2 or more years industry experience preferred.
CERTIFICATIONS AND LICENSES
- Professional certification may be required in some areas.
