- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend

Job Summary
The Mental Health Therapy Aide (MHT) provides direct and indirect patient care in a behavioral health setting supporting patients with daily activities therapeutic interactions and maintaining a safe environment under the supervision of nursing staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with direct patient care in an acute behavioral health setting
- Record vital signs and monitor patient intake/output
- Complete patient admission documentation
- Assist with physical exams and specimen collection
- Support patient hygiene and activities of daily living (ADLs)
- Transport patients as needed
- Orient new patients to unit routines and guidelines
- Observe document and report patient behavior and responses
- Develop therapeutic relationships and engage patients in activities
- Intervene during crisis situations following established protocols
- Perform routine safety checks to ensure a secure environment
- Collaborate with nursing staff and care team members
- Participate in unit operations and patient care activities
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of behavioral health/psychiatric experience
- CPR Certification (active)
- Experience in an inpatient setting
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR)
Preferred Qualifications
- 2 years of experience
- Pediatric behavioral health experience
