JOB SUMMARY
Manages and oversees a variety of programs including Economic Development research efforts economic development efforts in local communities and grants. Works closely with Economic Development leadership to manage innovative programs to improve economic development and business resources and opportunities throughout the County.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university in Business Administration Communication Finance Marketing Economics or a closely related field plus four (4) years of related experience OR an equivalent combination of related education and experience.
Due to the nature of this position the successful applicant must pass a required background check through fingerprinting and enrollment in the continuous RAP Back (Record of Arrest and Prosecution Back) program in accordance with current County Human Resources policy requirements.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Oversees research strategy partnerships and contracts for programs and projects assigned.
- Prepares Requests for Proposals and negotiates contracts for programs assigned.
- Identifies and promotes new business opportunities and research efforts to expand existing businesses and industry.
- May supervise staff which includes hiring orienting training assigning and reviewing work performance annual work performance appraisals and discipline.
- Develops strategies including marketing pro formas and funding for the purpose of assembling parcels of land for the development of housing including affordable housing and transit-oriented developments.
- Researches and promotes available programs to businesses and the public.
- Provides economic information to the private and public sectors.
- Assists in developing analyzing and submitting the annual revenue and expenditure budget plan and mid-year adjustments for applicable programs and ensures that project goals are met.
- Makes presentations to councils commissions business leaders and the public on behalf of the departments Director.
- Prepares publications materials business presentations marketing collateral and other educational materials.
- Performs data and statistical analysis; creates statistical reports graphs images and lists to simplify complex data.
