Job Title: Polysomnographic Technologist (Night Shift)
Location: The Woodlands TX
Duration: 13 Weeks
Job Description
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Polysomnographic Technologist to perform overnight sleep studies and provide high-quality patient care. The ideal candidate will be responsible for conducting diagnostic and therapeutic sleep procedures ensuring patient safety and maintaining compliance with established protocols and standards.
Minimum Qualifications
Education:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
Licenses/Certifications:
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
- Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) certification
Experience / Knowledge / Skills
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT)
- Experience performing sleep studies including CPAP/BiPAP titrations
- Familiarity with sleep software systems (e.g. Natus Sleepworks)
- Experience working with pediatric and adult populations preferred
- Ability to lift 75100 lbs occasionally and carry up to 30 lbs
- Strong observational technical and patient care skills
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver safe competent and age-appropriate patient care
- Prepare and conduct overnight sleep studies including:
- Reviewing patient records and physician orders
- Identifying sleep-related complaints
- Assessing medications caffeine/alcohol intake and sleep patterns
- Perform complex diagnostic and therapeutic procedures for diverse patient populations
- Conduct CPAP/BiPAP titration studies as required
- Ensure proper setup calibration and maintenance of sleep study equipment
- Adhere to safety sanitation and infection control standards
- Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with organizational policies
- Support quality care through effective time and resource management
- Participate in continuing education and competency development
- Serve as a mentor or resource for less experienced staff when needed
- Contribute to a patient-centered environment by delivering compassionate and personalized care
- Perform additional duties as assigned
