Sunnybrook Research Institute is the research enterprise of Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre; a teaching hospital fully affiliated with the University of Toronto. Research spans three Toronto-based campuses eight programs and three scientific platforms. Our main aims are to understand and prevent disease and to develop treatments that enhance and extend life. Summer Student GMP Lab Assistant
Are you a science student looking to get real hands-on experience in a GMP lab this summer A GMP lab is a laboratory that operates under Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) regulations. These are quality and safety rules used in pharmaceutical biotech and other health-related manufacturing environments. This Summer Student GMP Lab Assistant role is a great opportunity to see how a regulated lab works day to day and to support a team doing meaningful work.
Summary of Duties:
- Helping with simple lab tasks like labeling tubes organizing samples and preparing basic solutions.
- Keeping the lab tidy by cleaning benches equipment surfaces and common areas.
- Assisting with receiving logging and storing supplies following our procedures.
- Doing light administrative work such as data entry filing and updating records.
- Checking inventory restocking supplies and helping manage lab waste.
- Following safety rules GMP guidelines and our SOPs.
Qualifications:
You are currently enrolled in a science-related program (e.g. Biology Chemistry
Biotechnology Medical Laboratory Science) and returning to school in the fall.
You are careful organized and comfortable doing routine tasks.
You communicate clearly and enjoy working with others.
You are interested in learning how a GMP lab operates.
Any previous lab experience is a bonus but not required.
