Responsibilities
  • Identifies truck problems and services by listening to customers description of symptoms;clarifying description of problems; conducting inspections; taking test drives; checking vehiclemaintenance records; examining service schedules
  • Assists in the Parts Department. Including but not limited to (Assisting customers Answering Phone calls Handling walk in customers Organizing and or taking deliveries to parts customers.
  • Verifies warranty and service contract coverage by examining records and papers; explainingprovisions and exclusions
  • Develops estimates by costing materials supplies labor; and calculating customers paymentincluding deductibles
  • Prepares repair orders (RO) by describing symptoms problems and causes discovered as wellas repairs and services required; obtaining approval signatures; entering RO into servicedatabase system
  • Maintains truck records by recording problems and corrective actions planned
  • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading manufacturerspublications
  • Enhances organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and differentrequests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments
  • Must display a positive and friendly attitude as well as appropriate behavior during work hours
  • Cleanliness must be maintained in the work area
Qualifications
  • Organizational skills and follow through
  • Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with customers co-workers and general public
  • Must be self-motivated hardworking and dependable person
  • Must possess the ability to be adaptable and willing to perform assignments beyond normalduties when asked
  • Must possess the ability to follow instructions and to accept constructive feedback
  • Must have basic knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Computer skills using CDK Dealer Management system and various OEM inventory catalogprograms preferred
  • 1 year Heavy Duty Truck experience preferred
  • 1 year service writing experience preferred
