Jenks Public Schools Job Description
Position:ESY Licensed Practical Nurse
Reports to: Director of Student Programs
Qualifications:
- Hold or be eligible for a Licensed Practical Nurse certificate.
- Satisfy all district requirements with regard to physical health and citizenship.
- Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.
Position Goal:Provide services for students requiring full-time nursing support while attending Jenks Public Schools during Extended School Year.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Administers medications according to physicians orders and District policies.
- Maintain airway by oral nasal or tracheal suctioning as necessary and according to written procedures.
- Administers and documents gastrostomy feedings as ordered for students with gastrostomy tubes.
- Documents and describes seizure activity and takes necessary action to protect students airway and prevent physical injuries. Communicates with parents as necessary.
- Monitors oxygen saturations as needed using pulse oximeter and administers oxygen per nasal cannula or mask as needed per District policy.
- Documents and maintains student health information in a professional manner.
- As necessary travels to and from school with students via District transportation.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
Employment Terms:June 1 2026 - June 25 2026 (as needed - 16 days during this timeframe)

Occasional Requirements: Reach with hands and arms overhead above the shoulders and horizontally; lift/move up to 40 pounds.
Visual Requirements: Close color peripheral depth perception ability to adjust focus.
Hearing/Speaking Requirements: Adequate to exchange information.
