About the Role

Were hiring a Dispatch Coordinator the operational backbone of our fleet.

Dispatch is the heartbeat of our business and were looking for someone who understands that. If youre already coordinating trucks managing routes and keeping drivers moving efficiently and youre ready for something better this could be your next step.

Were a growing Alberta-based company operating across sanitation waste management recycling rental equipment and long-haul services. Our fleet is expanding our workload is increasing and we need a skilled dispatcher to keep everything running smoothly.

Key Responsibilities

As our Dispatch Coordinator youll act as the central point of communication between drivers customers and operations.

Daily Operations & Dispatch

  • Coordinate scheduling and dispatch across:
    • Sanitation routes
    • Rental equipment deliveries
    • Waste and recycling pickups
    • Long-haul operations across Alberta
  • Build optimize and adjust routes in real time
  • Plan driver journeys considering distance Hours of Service fuel stops and turnaround times

Fleet & Communication Management

  • Assign drivers and equipment based on availability and job requirements
  • Monitor fleet movement and adjust schedules as needed
  • Communicate effectively with drivers customers and internal teams

Customer Service & Administration

  • Handle customer inquiries and resolve scheduling issues
  • Track work orders service tickets and job completion
  • Coordinate with maintenance to minimize downtime

Logistics & Compliance

  • Support long-haul logistics and documentation
  • Ensure compliance with Hours of Service and safety regulations

Training & Continuous Improvement

  • Assist with onboarding and training new drivers
  • Identify inefficiencies in routing and scheduling and implement improvements

What Were Looking For

This is not an entry-level role were seeking someone experienced and confident in dispatch operations.

Required Qualifications

  • Proven experience in dispatch or logistics coordination
  • Strong knowledge of Alberta geography and transportation routes
  • Experience with route planning and optimization across large service areas
  • Familiarity with dispatch software GPS tracking and fleet systems
  • Strong decision-making skills under pressure
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
  • High level of organization and attention to detail
  • Proficiency with computers (dispatch systems spreadsheets email)
  • Solid understanding of Hours of Service regulations and compliance
  • Ability to train and support new team members

Asset Qualifications (Nice to Have)

  • Experience across multiple service lines (sanitation rentals long haul)
  • Exposure to oilsands or industrial logistics
  • Knowledge of waste management and recycling operations
