Are you a dynamic creative and seasoned communications and marketing professional We are expanding our ambitious Communications & Marketing team at Nottingham City Council and have four Communications and Marketing Officer roles available!

This is a great opportunity to join a personable professional and innovative team that sits at the heart of the Council as we work to rebuild capacity and make a strategic impact across the organisation.

The roles

As a Communications & Marketing Officer you wont just be a cog in the machine. You will be a creative lead responsible for developing and delivering insight-based campaigns that meet real business objectives.

Your core responsibilities will include:

  • Delivering creative promotional campaigns with a focus on digital advertising web optimisation and event marketing.
  • Working on our busy media desk managing local and national press enquiries and writing high-quality news articles and press releases.
  • Providing expert counsel to senior leaders politicians and external partners to protect and enhance the Councils reputation.

While these roles work across all Council areas two of our new recruits will lead role in supporting our Waste and Cleansing services and one in our Greenspace service developing targeted communications to engage residents and drive service improvements.

Key skills and experience:

  • A strong background in Marketing Communications and PR.
  • A strong news sense and the ability to craft compelling narratives for diverse audiences.
  • Experience in digital marketing for recruitment commercialisation or behaviour change campaigns.
  • The ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining initiative and enthusiasm.
  • Confidence in collaborating with senior stakeholders and external partners.
