Position Summary:
The Shop Custodian maintains a clean safe and organized facility by performing routine and deep cleaning basic maintenance and supporting daily shop operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Clean and maintain shop floors offices restrooms and break areas
- Operate custodial equipment (vacuums shop vacs forklifts ladders lifts) safely
- Handle and dispose of waste and hazardous materials per guidelines
- Perform minor maintenance (e.g. light bulbs basic repairs) and report issues
- Respond to urgent cleaning needs and assist with shop setup as needed
- Follow all safety procedures and communicate effectively with team members
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required
- 13 years of custodial or facility experience preferred (manufacturing a plus)
- Knowledge of cleaning equipment chemicals and safety practices
- Basic math and computer skills (Microsoft Office preferred)
- Forklift experience required (certification or ability to obtain)
- Ability to operate custodial tools ladders and lifts
- Scissor lift experience and basic maintenance knowledge preferred
Physical Demands
- Standing/walking: 90% of shift
- Lifting: Up to 20 lbs. (100 lbs. with assistance)
- Frequent bending pushing/pulling; occasional climbing
Pay: $16/hr
