Night Receptionist
Job Summary
- Assist the Night Supervisor with the night audit process
- Conduct Night Auditor duties whilst on shift
- Perform routine maintenance checks on the network and system audit controls
- Ensure that staff on duty are well groomed and promote morale through encouragement of team work and a positive attitude
- Investigate security breaches completing relevant forms and advising relevant authorities using the correct legal process
- Handle disruptive guests and ensure their discreet removal from the property if needed
- Responsible for all other departments in the absence of their respective managers for the duration of the night time operation
- Enforce policies and procedures in order to achieve superior levels of service
- Attend and conduct monthly operation meetings to review monitor and upgrade the performance of the department through dissemination of information explaining new directions policies and procedures standard operating procedures (SOPs) and training initiatives
- Ensure that all specified diaries and reports are maintained in an accurate and up to date manner
- Handle all complaints promptly and efficiently ensuring follow up to determine the source of the complaint and resolution of the problem
- Be available at all times for guest queries
- Ensure the hotel is operating efficiently and according to hotel policy
- Ensure all staff are on duty and in proper uniform. Liaise with the department heads/supervisors for replacement of any absent staff
- Ensure all public areas outlets and the Front Office areas are clean at all times
- Monitor occupancy to obtain maximum yield
- Maintain guest history and use for all bookings as appropriate.
- Convey all complaints and apparent problems to the appropriate department head
- Carry out a complete handover to the next shift
- Issue floats and keys in accordance with SOPs
- Ensure all basic Liquor Licensing Laws are adhered to
- Check all areas for general maintenance requirements
- Apply full knowledge of fire procedures and take control in the case of fire
Qualifications :
You will also have:
- Previous experience in a night auditor role within a Hotel environment
- An energetic and proactive approach to providing 5 star service
- A meticulous and methodical approach to processing all tasks
- An effective communicator
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs particularly Excel
- Experience with a Hotel Property Management System (PMS) preferably Opera.
- Ability to remain calm and professional under pressure in a busy fast-paced environment
