About the Project
ACCIONA Agua is progressing several major water infrastructure tenders across Australia including largescale desalination and drinkingwater treatment facilities complex electromechanical systems and longterm watersecurity projects. These works form part of ACCIONAs growing national pipeline and represent key opportunities to shape future water infrastructure delivery.
As part of this growth we are seeking a Senior Estimator with demonstrated multidisciplinary experience strong technical capability and deep knowledge across mechanical and electrical disciplines to support highquality cost estimating from the tender stage through to project delivery.

You will work closely with engineering commercial procurement and leadership teams providing accurate and competitive cost estimates that shape major bid outcomes and support project execution.
What are the key accountabilities for the position
- Develop accurate competitive cost estimates for largescale desalination and water treatment projects
- Lead detailed quantity takeoffs and robust cost forecasting
- Manage multiple bids simultaneously acting as the key interface with senior leadership
- Coordinate estimates across mechanical electrical civil and subcontracted scopes
- Review and refine estimates based on project requirements and client feedback
- Participate in pre and postbid meetings ensuring full compliance with client and regulatory standards
Collaboration & Delivery Readiness
- Partner with internal teams and key subcontractors to obtain pricing for labour materials and specialist equipment
- Maintain and enhance historical cost databases and utilise internal estimating systems
- Ensure seamless knowledge transfer to delivery teams once projects are awarded
Leadership & Development
- Mentor and support junior estimators encouraging technical excellence and consistency
- Contribute to the development of estimating standards and best practices across the business
Planning & Quality Control
- Develop and maintain companywide estimating methodologies and governance
- Ensure estimating tools align with industry best practice
- Collaborate closely with Quality Management to maintain strong compliance and control standards
Required Skills and Competencies
Bachelors degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (or related field).
Minimum 7 years experience in estimating for major water infrastructure projects ideally in desalination or water treatment plants
Proven ability to deliver accurate cost estimates for large-scale projects (treatment plants pipelines pump stations).
Strong knowledge of construction methodologies and cost estimation systems.
Proficiency in estimating software and MS Word Excel and Access.
Excellent communication and client relationship management skills.
