The USF College of Nursing is seeking a full-time clinical/teaching (non-tenure track) faculty member eligible for the Visiting Assistant professor able to teach graduate courses; serve on college and university committees; and actively participate in community engagement.
The primary duty of the role will be to teach in the graduate program. The candidate may also serve as a liaison between the USF College of Nursing and designated clinical facilities which will necessitate some travel to these facilities. Additionally the role includes mentoring nursing students and engaging in service activities at the college university community and professional levels consistent with the rank of assistant professor.
Responsibilities
Teaching: The teaching responsibilities associated with this position include the delivery of didactic online and clinical instruction for graduate-level courses. Faculty members are expected to engage students through diverse teaching methodologies fostering an inclusive and dynamic learning environment that supports academic excellence at all levels. It will include participation in program and curriculum review activities as well as the evaluation of clinical sites and students as appropriate.
Scholarship/Service: The candidate is expected to serve on college and university committees as appropriate. They should also actively engage in community and professional service activities that align with the mission vision and values of the College of Nursing as well as those that meet the universitys criteria for their appointment in accordance with their rank.
- Other Duties: The candidate is expected to engage in scholarly activities including publications and presentations in alignment with the universitys criteria for the appointment at the rank of Assistant.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- Doctoral degree from an accredited institution or the highest degree appropriate in the field of specialization with a demonstrated record of achievement in teaching academic research and service. Must meet university criteria for appointment to the rank of Assistant Professor.
Additional Minimum Qualifications:
- Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) from an accredited institution.
- Must be a licensed Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) and listed on the Florida Department of Health by the appointment date.
- Certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP-C).
- Demonstrated experience in advanced clinical practice across diverse patient populations
- Evidence-Based Practice Certification (EBP-C) and demonstrated expertise in evidence-based practice including experience leading or supporting quality improvement and/or evidence-based practice initiatives
- A demonstrated record of scholarly achievement including creative work professional writing or research in referred and other professional journals and recognition as an authority in the field of specialization. Must meet university criteria for appointment to the rank of Assistant Professor.
Preferred Qualifications:
- An established record of scholarly work and/or external funding.
- Experience effectively engaging with individuals from varied backgrounds.
