Job Title: Sterile Processing Technician
Location: Modesto CA
Employment Type: Contract (13 Weeks Potential for Permanent Placement)
Department: Sterile Processing
Schedule: 5 Days/Week Day Shift (7:00 AM 3:30 PM)
Hours: 40 Hours/Week
Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented Sterile Processing Technician to support the decontamination sterilization and distribution of surgical instruments and medical equipment. This role is critical in maintaining infection control standards and ensuring the availability of properly sterilized instruments for patient care.
Responsibilities
- Perform decontamination cleaning and sterilization of surgical instruments and medical equipment
- Inspect assemble and package instrument sets according to established standards
- Operate sterilization equipment including autoclaves and washer disinfectors
- Ensure compliance with infection control policies and quality standards
- Maintain accurate documentation of sterilization processes and inventory
- Monitor and restock sterile supplies as needed
- Identify and report equipment malfunctions or quality concerns
- Maintain a clean organized and safe work environment
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of sterile processing experience
- Knowledge of sterilization methods and infection control practices
- Familiarity with surgical instruments and sterile processing workflows
- Experience with autoclaves washer disinfectors and related equipment
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Basic computer proficiency
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
Education
- High School Diploma or equivalent
Certifications
- Required: CRCST CIS or equivalent Sterile Processing certification
