High School Business Teacher-OverviewWe are seeking a dynamic and versatile educator to join our Career and Technical Education (CTE) department. This unique role bridges the gap between digital media arts and business preparing students for the modern creative economy. The ideal candidate will possess a blend of technical mastery in video production and a foundational understanding of marketing principals. Key Responsibilities & CoursesThe successful candidate will be responsible for teaching the following courses:1. Video Production: Teaching the fundamentals of cinematography lighting sound recording and non-linear editing.2. Studio Production: Overseeing the student-led production of our Husky News Network including control room operations floor directing and live-to-tape workflows.3. Animation: Introduction to 2D/3D motion graphics and character animation.4. Fundamentals of Marketing: Teacher core business concepts including branding consumer behavior and digital Qualifications:1. Adobe Proficiency: Must be highly proficient in Adobe Premiere Pro. Experience with the broader Adobe Create Cloud (After Effects Photoshop Illustrator) is strongly preferred.2. Industry Experience: Proven professional experience in video production broadcast or a related digital media field.3. Equipment Knowledge: Familiarity with professional cameras audio mixers lightings kits and studio switchers. Certification Requirements:The candidate must meet one of the following criteria:1. Currently hold a valid Rhode Island CTE Certification in Audio/Visual Communications and Technologist: Audio/Video2. OR be eligible and willing to become CTE certified through the RIDE work-Based Learning and industry experience pathway. (School leadership will provide guidance on the certification process for industry professional transitioning to the classroom).Desired Professional Attributes:1. Student Centered- Ability to mentor students through high-pressure broadcast deadlines and creative projects.2. WBL Focused- Willingness to facilitate Work-Based Learning (WBL) opportunities including service learning and industry partnerships.3. Collaborative- Able to work across departments to integrate business marking concepts with digital media assets.
