Location: Rochester NY
Shift: Day Shift 4x10 Hours (6:30 AM 5:00 PM)
Duration: 13 Weeks
Job Summary:
Seeking an experienced CVOR Surgical Technologist to support cardiovascular surgical procedures in a high-volume operating room setting. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of surgical techniques sterile procedures and the ability to assist in both routine and complex cardiovascular surgeries.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare operating rooms for cardiovascular surgical procedures
- Ensure all surgical instruments supplies and equipment are sterile and ready for use
- Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments and maintaining sterile field
- Anticipate surgical team needs during operations
- Support both elective and emergency cardiovascular surgeries
- Maintain accurate surgical counts and ensure patient safety protocols
- Assist in room turnover and preparation for subsequent procedures
- Float to general surgical procedures when CVOR volume is low
- Document procedures and maintain records using electronic systems
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum 1 year of experience as a Surgical Technologist preferably in CVOR
- BLS Certification required
- Experience with EPIC EMR system
- Strong knowledge of sterile technique and surgical instrumentation
