Job Summary

A Shipping and Receiving Clerk/Lead is a key member of the logistics team responsible for the efficient and accurate handling of all inbound and outbound shipments. This role involves a blend of physical material handling meticulous data entry and communication to ensure products are received processed and shipped correctly. The clerk plays a vital role in maintaining the flow of goods and supporting overall operational efficiency.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Load and unload trucks safely and efficiently using equipment such as a forklift and pallet jack as needed.
  • Prepare shipments by identifying and communicating shipment weights and packing requirements.
  • Confirm shipment quantities against packing lists to ensure accuracy.
  • Receive Purchase Orders for delivered shipments using the AS400 system.
  • Verify finished line production quantities and provide this data to the Shipping Supervisor for reporting and record-keeping.
  • Drive a truck for local deliveries and pickups as needed.
  • Move products between stations according to the production router to maintain workflow.
  • Assist with picks pulls and returns to stock to support material handling operations.
  • Verify and receive deliveries accurately.
  • Prep and verify finished production for both receipt into inventory and subsequent delivery.
  • Accurately weigh and count items as required for inventory and shipping purposes.
  • Perform AS400 inventory moves to reflect the correct location and status of materials
  • Adhere to all company safety housekeeping and procedural guidelines.
  • Perform daily pre-operation inspections on all assigned equipment.
  • Perform any other job-related duties as directed by a supervisor or lead person.

Education/Experience/Qualifications & Skills

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 1 3 years of experience in a shipping receiving or warehouse environment is required.
  • Proficient in the preparation and verification of shipments
  • Strong ability to provide accurate shipping weight and quantity data.
  • Familiarity with inventory management systems specifically the AS400 platform for performing inventory moves and production receipts.
  • Ability to research and correct inventory discrepancies.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining inventory accuracy.
  • Basic computer skills including familiarity with Microsoft Excel.
  • Ability to read and understand technical specifications and instructions.
  • Good hand-eye coordination and attention to detail.
  • Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
  • Strong oral and written presentation skills effective time management abilities and robust problem-solving capabilities to communicate effectively prioritize tasks efficiently and address challenges proactively.

While performing the duties of this Job the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and fumes or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
