Job Summary
As a P1 Designer (Junior Designer) you will support the detailed design of outside plant (OSP) elements (aerial and/or underground) and fiber designs for telecommunication networks. Working under the guidance of the Design Manager and senior designers you will assist in creating constructible GPON network designs using a variety of tools. This role includes collaboration with design engineering and construction teams and involves both office-based work and occasional field activities to support construction staff safety and quality control.

Essential Responsibilities:
Assist with the layout and design of fiber optic and copper outside plant (OSP) networks in support of FTTH fiber-to-the-suite and commercial development projects
Support the growth sustainment and modification of existing telecommunications networks including relocations and infrastructure additions moves and changes
Perform quality control activities assist with field checks and interpret OSP records drawings and network documentation
Support system design deliverables including preparation of bills of material (BOMs) and basic construction cost estimates
Conduct site walks to collect surface feature and underground utility information required for construction-ready design packages
Collaborate with engineering design and construction teams to support project execution while adhering to applicable design standards safety regulations and customer practices
Qualifications:
Education: College Trade or Technical Diploma (preferably civil electrical/telecommunications GIS).
Experience: 1 years in OSP telecommunications or related field using AutoCAD.
Skills: Proficiency in AutoCAD MS Office Google Earth Bluebeam and Adobe. GIS is a plus. Strong organizational and planning skills. Ability to interpret construction documents and collaborate effectively.
