Press Operator IIGannett Publishing ServicesRockaway NJThe Rockaway Facility is looking for afull-timePress Operator toassistwith daily production on our double wide presses. Under the direction of press management & supervisorsthe Press Operator Il is assigned to perform printing related tasks that may include but are not limited to: working as Primary Ink setting or Folder operator oversight of plate processing; spotting plates; reel set-up & operation; newsprint staging; roll preparation; CMYK ink setting; advanced press operational controls; equipment maintenance; and specified member of the pressroom staff constantly strives to achieve the following goals and the contribution of every press operator is necessary for success. The primaryobjectiveis to support efficient press operations as needed to achieve& maintainon-time production product quality standards low waste and operational quality of printed of all scheduled start and stop of material resources especiallynewsprint.A clean and safe working :Candidate must be proficient in Mitsubishi Wifag or similar newspaper press operations and functions. Must have knowledge of printing techniques understanding basic ink/water balance and pressquality and layout press diagrams accurately to accommodate color demand whilemaintainingmaximum labor and how to layout press runs install leads and switch angle be proficient in all reel room operations and understand all reel functions including tensioning system roll delivery systems roll/buttdiameter candidates should have the ability to adapt to change prioritize work handle multiple tasks remainflexibleand interact with people be able to work in a fast-paced environment and meet all and clamp truck certificationa have solid organizational and computer skills including good working knowledge of general business and Microsoft software must be able to lift/carry up to 75 pounds. Must be able to push/pull up to 2000 pounds. A press operator Il spends most working hours on his/her addition to extended periods of standing a press operatoris required toclimb stairs on the six-level press structure. Operatorsengagedin press maintenance and some cleaning activities will berequiredto stoop kneelcrouchand crawl. They often work in confined areas. Color vision position is Full-time shift work which may include scheduled nights weekends and holidays.
