Job Summary
Job title: ChefWe are looking for a friendly and proactive Chef to join our kitchen team. Our onsite eatery holds a 5-star VisitScotland rating and offers breakfast coffee and tea lunch and afternoon tea. You will play a key role in creating fresh high-quality dishes from scratch and ensuring our high standards are consistently maintained. This is a permanent part-time role working 30 hours per week. The role includes working some weekends so flexibility is of pay: 13.08 per hour increasing to 13.45 per hour from 1 May 2026 however it depends on the the role: You will bepreparing cooking and baking items from our main menuensuring the quality of dishes are of a high standard on all occasionsmaintaining good stock control and storage of food equipment and cleaning itemsadhering to food safety procedures at all timesensuring the highest standards of hygiene and cleanliness within the kitchenExperience is youKey qualities were looking for:have excellent interpersonal teamwork and communication skillshave knowledge of food allergies cook safehave a passion for sourcing and utilising local fresh ingredients and making dishes from scratchexperience of working in a busy fast-paced kitchen where food is made to orderattention to detail in the presentation of food and commitment to qualityenthusiasm for discovering new food trends and contributing ideas to the daily specials items and menu changesAbout UsFounded in 1797 Johnstons of Elgin is an innovative luxury clothing brand celebrating 225 years of experience in working with the worlds finest fibres.
