Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) Medical Surgical (Trauma / Neuro / Surgical Unit)

Job Summary:
Seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) for a high-acuity Medical-Surgical unit specializing in Trauma and Surgical care. The ideal candidate will have strong experience managing complex neuro and trauma patients in a fast-paced acute care environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct patient care in a high-acuity Med-Surg/Trauma unit
- Perform comprehensive nursing assessments and ongoing monitoring
- Manage patients with complex trauma and surgical conditions
- Administer medications IV therapies and treatments
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams for patient care planning
- Ensure accurate documentation using EMR systems (EPIC)
- Participate in patient handoff and care coordination processes
- Maintain adherence to safety and infection control standards
Unit Details:
- Specialty: Medical Surgical Trauma / Neuro / Surgical
- Patient Population:
- Spinal and Neuro Trauma
- Gunshot wounds
- Quadriplegic and paraplegic patients
- Patient Ratio: 1:5
- Support Staff:
- Nursing Support Technicians
- Phlebotomists
- Unit Secretary (night shift)
- Handoff Process: ED nurse and admitting unit complete nurse-to-nurse handoff
Required Qualifications:
- Active RN License (state-specific as applicable)
- Minimum 2 years of Medical-Surgical experience (high acuity preferred)
- Experience in Trauma / Neuro / Surgical units
- Experience with EPIC EMR system
