- 2 x Fixed Term Full-Time positions available 80 hours per fortnight

About the Role
We have an opportunity for an Intern Pharmacist to join our team at Health New Zealand Te Whatu Ora Te Matau a Māui Hawkes Bay for 2027.
This position will be based at Hawkes Bay Fallen Soldiers Memorial Hospital in Hastings commencing January 2027 (exact date to be confirmed with successful applicant).
As an intern you will be mentored by an accredited preceptor but will be supported by and learn from the whole team. You will be exposed to a variety of clinical and non-clinical experiences including;
- Ward based pharmacy services
- Therapeutic drug monitoring
- Providing medicines information
- Extemporaneous compounding
- Dispensing
- Patient counselling and education
About the Team/Service/ Location
We are a collaborative and supportive team looking for a colleague who shares our values of Respect Partnership Care and Improvement.
We have regular journal clubs grand rounds clinical talks and an Education and Training Pharmacist to support your growth and development. We also look to support other external training opportunities.
In Hawkes Bay the local branch of the PSNZ is active in organising continuing education sessions and has a great Early Career Pharmacist Network if applicable to you.

About you
We are looking for an enthusiastic motivated person with excellent communication skills a strong team focus and desire to provide a quality service.
Applicants must be completing their final year of Bachelor of Pharmacy Degree and be eligible to work in New Zealand under an Intern Pharmacist scope of practice.
