Short Description
The Registered RN is a professional care-giver who as a member of a multidisciplinary health care team assumes responsibility and accountability for a group of patients for adesignated time frame and who supervises and provides care to these patients utilizing the nursing process including the therapeutic use of self.

Overview
TheSurgical Care Unit (SCU)Short Procedure Unit (SPU)Same Day Surgery (SDS)andPre-Admission Testing (PAT)are in Camden at the hospital on the second third and fifth floors. First Pre-Admission Testinglocatedin 3Coopercalls to review a patients health information prior to a surgical procedure. Once approval for the recommended surgical procedure isfinalizedand patient information isreviewedthe patient is provided with information on when and where to arrived andregisteredthe patient is escorted to theappropriate locationto be prepped for surgical procedure. These RNs prep the patient for the procedure. They review medical history medicalproceduresand place an IV. Patients are met by Anesthesia and their Surgeon. Once everything is reviewed andverifiedthe patient then goes to the OR.
Experience Required
- 1-year Critical Care Required (PACU preferred)
- 1 PAT or PeriOp experience preferred
Education Requirements
- Graduate of NLN accredited School of Nursing
License/Certification Requirements
Current NJ- RN License (Registered Nurse)
Current BLS (Basic Life Support)
